Privacy Notice
This site is a personal design portfolio. It collects as little as possible about the people who visit it. This page explains exactly what that means.
Who is responsible for your data
Fergal Keane, based in Ireland, is the data controller for this website. If you have a question about anything on this page, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, use the contact form on the home page and I will respond directly.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising technology, no social media pixels and no third-party trackers of any kind. Nothing here builds a profile of you, follows you between sites, or shares your behaviour with anyone.
Because no cookies or similar tracking technologies are used, there is no consent banner to click through.
What is stored in your browser
Two small pieces of information are saved locally on your own device to make the site work properly. Neither is a cookie, neither is sent to a server, and neither identifies you:
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is remembered so the site looks the same next time you visit.
- Case study access. Some client case studies are password protected. Whether you have entered the password is held for the duration of your browsing session only, and is cleared when you close the tab.
You can remove both at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.
The contact form
If you choose to send a message through the contact form, you provide your name, your email address and whatever you write in the message. That information is used for one purpose only: to read your message and reply to it.
It is never added to a mailing list, never sold, and never shared with third parties for marketing. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a reasonable record of professional correspondence, after which they are deleted.
The lawful basis for handling this information is legitimate interest: you contacted me and expect an answer.
Hosting, fonts and server logs
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub records technical information when a page is requested, including your IP address, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. That logging is GitHub's, not mine, and I have no access to it.
All typefaces used on this site are served from this site's own files. No fonts, scripts or stylesheets are loaded from Google or any other external service, so no request from your browser is passed to a third party while you read these pages.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive a copy of it. Since the only personal data this site ever collects comes from the contact form, in practice this means any message you have sent me.
To make a request, contact me and I will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this notice
If the site ever adds analytics, embedded media or any other feature that changes what is collected, this page will be updated before that feature goes live, and a consent mechanism will be added if one is required. Last updated August 2026.
